Official summary
This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have an engine oil odor with no oil leaks found. Technician will need to inspect for an external oil leak. Technician will need to ensure the oil level is correct. Technician will need to replace the rear main seal, if no oil leaks were found and the engine oil level is not over full.
