Privacy Policy
Last updated July 30, 2026
RecallGazette is a reference site. We collect as little personal data as possible and we never sell it. This policy explains what we collect, which third parties may set cookies on our pages, and the choices you have.
Recall email alerts
If you subscribe to recall alerts, we store your email address and the vehicle or product you asked us to watch. We use it for exactly one purpose: sending you a notification when a new recall matching your subscription is filed. No marketing, no sharing with third parties. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also request removal at any time by replying to any alert.
Analytics
We use web analytics (Google Analytics 4) to understand which pages are useful. Analytics uses cookies or similar identifiers to count visits and measure aggregate behavior such as pages viewed and approximate location (city level). We use this data in aggregate only and do not use it to identify individual visitors. You can block analytics with browser settings or extensions, or via the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Advertising and cookies
Pages on this site may display ads served by third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense. These vendors may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.
- A list of the third-party ad technology providers that may serve ads on this site is available from Google’s ad technology providers page.
Consent for visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we show a consent banner (a Google-certified consent management platform) before any advertising cookies are set. You can decline personalized advertising there, and you can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link in the banner. Where consent is declined, ads may still be shown but are non-personalized.
Server logs
Like nearly every website, our servers keep short-lived technical logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and debugging. Logs are rotated automatically and are not used for profiling.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you (in practice: your alert subscription) by emailing us. We respond within 30 days. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.
