Official summary
This article supersedes TSB 21-2126 to address the revised software and include affected 2023 3.3L vehicles. Some 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles equipped with a gasoline, hybrid or flex fuel engine (non-Lightning) may exhibit inoperative A/C, lack of air flow, and/or evidence of the evaporator freezing. This may be due to the software level of the PCM and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) module. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the PCM and HVAC module to the latest software level via the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS).
Vehicles covered
What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
