Official summary
The 2022 F-150 Lightning Digital Owne s Manual states the power tailgate can be released by pressing and holding the 5 and 6 buttons simultaneously on the keyless entry keypad within 5 seconds of entering the factory or personal code. This keypad functionality is not available on the F-150 Lightning. No repairs should be attempted. The Digital Owners Manual will be revised via an over-the-air (OTA) software update which is expected to deploy in the 4th quarter of 2022. Continue to monitor OASIS for updates.
