Official summary

Some 2020-2022 Escape vehicles equipped with an HF45 transmission may exhibit a rattle noise on cold start up only when the engine is running. This noise may be more prevalent in cold weather conditions, typically at or below 0à °C (32à °F). This may be due to the software in the secondary on-board diagnostic control module C (SOBDMC) and on some vehicles also from the flywheel damper assembly. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to reprogram the SOBDMC and if necessary replace the flywheel damper assembly.

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
