Official summary
IF YOU CONFIRM A strong sulfur like odor is coming from the Moonroof drain hoses after a hot soak (after sitting with doors and windows closed). - Odor is most noticeable if the Moonroof shade is left closed while the vehicle sits in the direct sunlight and then after a hot soak the Moonroof shade is opened. NOTE - The Moonroof drain hoses MUST be the cause of the strong sulfur like odor for this bulletin to apply. ACTION Replace the Moonroof drain hoses with the Service Procedure starting on the next page AND deodorize with an ozone generator as needed AND THEN replace in-cabin microfilter. S

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
