Some 2016 c-max built on 1-may-2016 and through 6-sep-2016, may exhibit a false activation of the alarm system. This may be due to a change in the body control module (bcm) software. Reprogram the bcm to the latest calibration using ids release 102.05 or higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraftservice.com. Use causal part 14a068 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the slts manual.

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
