The defect
Wabash National Corporation (Wabash) is recalling certain 2027 Wabash van trailers. The bumper tube bolts may have been improperly tightened, reducing the protection provided by the rear impact guard. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 223, "Rear Impact Guards."
The risk
An improperly installed guard may not sufficiently protect a following vehicle, increasing the risk of injury during a rear end crash.
