The defect

Motor Coach Industries (MCI) is recalling certain 2021 D45CRTeLE vehicles. An error in the battery module software may cause an over-current condition during battery charging, resulting in battery damage.

The risk

Battery damage can cause battery cells to short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.

The fix — what to do

MCI will replace the batteries, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 6, 2024. Owners may contact MCI customer service at 1-800-241-2947.
