The defect

Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2025 IC Bus CE school buses. Tie rod assemblies may contain ball studs that may have been incorrectly heat-treated, which can cause them to break, and possibly result in tie rod failure.

The risk

Tie rod failure can cause a loss of vehicle steering control and increase the risk of a crash.

The fix — what to do

Dealers will replace the tie rod ends and realign the front axle, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 29, 2024. Owners may contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 24510.
