The defect

Lion Electrical Company (Lion) is recalling certain 2021-2025 LionC school buses. Loose hardware inside the high-voltage distribution unit (HVDU) or direct current junction box (DCJB) enclosures may contact electrical terminals, causing a short circuit.

The risk

A short circuit can shut down the high-voltage circuit, causing a loss of steering assistance or drive power and reducing braking power, increasing the risk of a crash.
