The defect

Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2023 FCCC MT50e vans. An insufficient connection in the battery pack may cause the battery management system to shut down unexpectedly.

An unexpected shut down can result in a sudden loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix — what to do

Dealers will replace the battery packs, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 14, 2023. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-960.
