Official summary

Complaint Noise when the following conditions are met: • Pressing brake pedal or releasing accelerator pedal • High voltage battery state of charge (SOC) is >80% • Recouperation settings active (Intelligent, D-, or D) Cause The high voltage battery cannot achieve full recouperation from the electric motor due to the already high battery state of charge and is supported via the hydraulic portion of the brakes. The sound is from the hydraulic portion of the braking system. Remedy The noise is normal, no parts need to be replaced and no further action required.

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
