Official summary
Dealer technicians have reported failures involving camshaft cap bolts breaking within the cylinder head assembly. This can lead to damage to camshaft towers, camshafts, and other cylinder head components. In many cases, the entire long block has been replaced unnecessarily. Do NOT replace the entire long block unless absolutely necessary. Perform a thorough inspection and replace only the cylinder head assembly if the damage is localized.
