Official summary

TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: SERVICE ACTION: PDW OPERATION LOGIC IMPROVEMENT (SA629) - This bulletin provides instructions for upgrading the Body Domain Controller (BDC) system on select 2026MY Sportage (NQ5a) and Sportage P/HEV (NQ5 P/HEV) vehicles, as listed in the table below. In some cases, intermittent normal operation of the Parking Detection Warning (PDW) feature may occur due to unstable communication between the BDC and peripheral Integrated Circuits (IC). The upgrade addresses this issue by improving signal integrity and reducing the likelihood of communication disruptions.

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
