Official summary

Some vehicles may exhibit that, after using the cabin preconditioning, when starting the engine, the CHECK ENGINE light illuminates with DTC P0531:00 (Refrigerant pressure sensor No.1 system: Function malfunction) stored in memory. NOTE: If the cabin preconditioning was not used, this TSB is not applicable. (DTC P0531:00 concern without using the cabin preconditioning is under investigation.) This is caused by improper control logic of the PCM. To eliminate this concern, the control logic of the PCM has been modified.

Vehicles covered

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
