Official summary
Volvo Cars USA LLC and Volvo Car Canada LTD on behalf of the Volvo Car Corporation has decided to launch Service Action S10266 on certain model year 2021- 2023 V90CC, S90l, XC60, XC90, XC40 and C40 vehicles. Volvo Car Investigations have identified that iCUP vehicles with a software version earlier than V2.3 need updating to ensure the proper functioning of the mobile app’s features. As a result, there is a possibility of losing remote functions in the Volvo Car App, such as lock/unlock and climate control. The corrective action is to perform a total software upgrade. S1026

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
