Official summary
Mercedes-Benz AG ("MBAG"), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain Model Year (“MY”) 2023 -2024 GLC (254 platform), C-Class (206 platform), CLE (236 platform), E-Class (214 platform) and S-Class (223 platform) vehicles, the 48-volt battery module (BMS) control unit software does not correspond to the current series production configuration. It is therefore possible that the battery's state of health is calculated incorrectly, thereby falsely illuminating check engine light ‘MIL’ (malfunction indicator lamp).

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
