Official summary

Some 2023 Escape Hybrid vehicles may exhibit a click or pop noise during drive/reverse engagements most often from the left front axle halfshaft on all wheel drive (AWD) or front wheel drive (FWD) vehicles or in some cases the right front axle halfshaft on FWD models. Ford is aware of this concern and this condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in March 2024.

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
