Official summary
This article supersedes TSB 23-2168 to update the vehicle line affected. Some 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E (non-GT) vehicles equipped with all-wheel drive (AWD) may exhibit a whine noise from the front drive unit when driving steady at speeds between 30-40 mph (48-64 km/h) without diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) present. This may be due to software parameters. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM).
What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
