Official summary

MAZDA SERVICE PROGRAM (MSP49), Certain CX-9 vehicles may experience a creaking/squeaking noise from the right rear suspension. The noise may occur while traveling at lower speeds or coming to a stop, or when starting from a stop. The noise can also be duplicated by gently bouncing the right rear suspension (i.e. simulating the movement of a passenger exiting the right rear door). The creaking noise may be caused by stick-slip between the upper spring seat rubber and the coil spring.

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
