Official summary
Slingshot has had a small but concerning number of post bulletin repair contacts due to failure to properly assemble the rear axle, sprocket and nuts. Improper installation may result in a rear axle assembly with insufficient clamp load. When proper clamp load is not achieved, the vehicle may experience erratic or incorrect rear wheel speed sensor readings. Symptoms include a reduction in deceleration during engine braking and a feeling of cruise control being engaged or the ABS solenoid being activated during light to moderate braking. This may occur when the axle splines or sprocket splines
What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
