Official summary
This Service Information bulletin announces a procedure change for installation of the under-body grommets used to seal the tie-down holes used during vehicle transport. Previously, the grommetswere supplied with the vehicle and placed in the glove box to be installed as part of the pre-delivery inspection (PDI) procedure. Recently, all carriers transporting vehicles from SIA began using individual wheel tie-downs instead of the chain-type tie-downs. As a result, these under-body grommets are now installed during vehicle assembly.
