Official summary

This is an update to the Delivery Stop that was issued on certain 2014 model year MINI Cooper, Cooper S and John Cooper Works Convertibles produced between July and October 2013. During closing, it is possible that the convertible top locating pin is not correctly positioned in the landing plate, at the top of the A-pillar (passenger?s side). The repair procedure is pending the release of warranty information which is expected shortly. Dealers will be updated via DCS as soon as this occurs. Affected vehicles in dealer inventory must not be delivered until the Service Action has been completed.

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
