Official summary
This is a Technical Service Bulletin sent to dealers, instructing them to reprogram affected vehicles' sub-BMU with updated software. Due to inappropriate programming, the sub-BMU may falsely judge the leak detection circuit as faulty by picking up electrical noises from operation of the drive selector, brake application, or air conditioner operation. This may cause several malfunction indicators to illuminate, including: Engine Malfunction, EV System Service Required, and RBS (Regenerative Brake System), with Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P0AA7 and P0AA8 (Leak Sensor Detection Circuit). What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
