Official summary
TSB: The breather plug should be replaced during any differential/transfer case repairs to prevent possible repeat failures. The subsequent use of the original breather plug after a repair has been found to contribute to the failure of the differential/transfer case components. Replace the breather plug when replacing differential/transfer case components.
