Official summary
Some 2017 Escape vehicles may exhibit inoperative climate or radio controls with DTCs U2100, U0140 in the FCIM or DTC U0164 in the body control module (BCM). This may be due to loss of communication or incomplete module configuration. Before further diagnosis, complete a battery reset per the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 414-01. Clear the DTCs and complete a FCIM self-test. If the DTCs are no longer present, no further action is required. For claiming, use causal part 19980 and applicable labor operations in section 11 of the service labor time standards (SLTS) manual.
