On 2016-2017 MX-5 vehicles with an automatic transmission, follow these steps to prevent breakage of the lock release button cover during installation. 1. Install the lock release button cover (A) in the select lever knob. a. Set the hook (B) of the cover in the select lever knob. b. Push in on the lower edge of the cover in the direction of the arrow to snap the tab (C) into place.
