Official summary
"service bulletin - the current defect thinking is that the airbag inflator which is part of the driver's airbag module may have been improperly stamped. Also, it could contain a defect in the material used to manufacture the airbag inflator's metal housing which, in the event of an airbag deployment, could cause inflator components to separate. If the inflator components separate, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material possibly causing injury or fatality to vehicle occupants."

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
