Official summary
"techline summary article - some clients may complain that the low oil pressure indicator comes on, requiring engine oil to be added, while others who routinely check the oil level as recommended in their owner s manual may find that oil consumption has exceeded their expectations. If you get a vehicle in your shop for an oil consumption concern, be sure to run an oil consumption test using the engine oil consumption test job aid in sis. If the oil consumption is excessive, and you re not noticing anything mechanically wrong, the piston rings may be clogged from carbon buildup."

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
