Official summary
Some vehicles may exhibit an exhaust leaking noise from the rear of the vehicle. The noise may be caused by a gap between the exhaust hanger bracket and flange, which allows moisture to enter and cause the exhaust studs to rust and possibly break off. The welding location of the exhaust hanger bracket and flange has been changed to ensure the hanger bracket and flange are flush with no gaps to allow moisture intrusion.
What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
