Official summary

Some 2017 mkc vehicles without thx audio systems may exhibit a subwoofer double pop noise during a wake-up event and/or the speaker fade setting returns to default after a key cycle. A wake-up event may include any of the following actions: door open, key fob used, tailgate activated, etc. The noise could also be described as a low tone bump sound, as if someone lightly tapped on the most rearward side window. Reprogram the audio control module (acm) to the latest calibration using the integrated diagnostic system (ids) release 104.02 or higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
