The defect

Denago EV is recalling certain 2024-2025 Nomad, 2024-2026 Nomad XL, 2026 Scout 2, 2026 Scout 4, 2024-2026 Rover XL, 2024-2026 Rover XXL, and 2024-2026 Rover XL6 vehicles. The vehicles may fail to make pedestrian warning sounds when in motion. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 141, "Minimum Sound Requirements for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles."

The risk

A vehicle that does not emit sound may fail to alert pedestrians of a moving vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

The fix — what to do

Dealers will provide an acoustic vehicle alerting system remedy kit, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 5, 2026. Owners may contact Denago EV's customer service at 1-877-755-2453. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning July 1, 2026.
