The defect
Smeal Holding, LLC (Smeal) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Rear Mount Platform, Mid Mount Platform Aerial, and 2024, 2026 125' Aerial emergency response vehicles. A defective crimp may cause the high-pressure hydraulic hose to separate and leak hydraulic fluid.
The risk
A fluid leak may cause a loss of hydraulic functions, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, a hydraulic fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source, such as hot engine or exhaust components, increases the risk of a fire.
