The defect
Endera Motors (Endera) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Endera school buses. The rear emergency exit door has a gas shock that is underrated for the weight of the door, which can result in the door closing unexpectedly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."
The risk
An emergency exit door closing unexpectedly can increase the risk of injury.
