The defect

Isuzu Motors Limited (Isuzu) is recalling certain 2025 FTR vehicles. The tie rod assemblies may contain ball studs that have been incorrectly heat-treated, which can cause them to break, and possibly result in tie rod failure.

The risk

Tie rod failure can cause a loss of vehicle steering control and increase the risk of a crash.

Check whether your specific vehicle is affected

Recall campaigns often cover only certain VIN ranges. Enter your VIN on the official NHTSA site to confirm whether your vehicle is included and whether the repair is still open.

The fix — what to do

Dealers will inspect and replace the tie rod and center link assembly, as necessary, free of charge. All affected vehicles are still within dealer inventory and therefore no owner notification letters will be mailed. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638. Isuzu's number for this recall is V2402.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
