The defect

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023 DC and DM Digger Derricks. The turntable rotation gearbox may fail at high loads due to a defect in the brake flange casing.

Gearbox failure may result in unexpected turntable rotation, increasing the risk of injury.

The fix — what to do

Altec will work with the gearbox supplier to test and replace the gearbox, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 21, 2023. Owners may contact Altec's customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is MAB 3130.
