The defect

Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2024 Anthem and Pinnacle vehicles. A software programming error may cause the electronic stability control (ESC) to be inoperative.

Driving with an inoperative electronic stability control system can increase the risk of a crash.

The fix — what to do

Dealers will reprogram the control unit software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 3, 2023. Owners may contact Mack's customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0450.
