The defect

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2024 Volvo VNL and VNR trucks. A software programming error may cause the electronic stability control (ESC) to be inoperative.

Driving with an inoperative electronic stability control system can increase the risk of a crash.

The fix — what to do

Dealers will reprogram the control unit software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 3, 2023. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 1-800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks' number for this recall is RVXX2310.
