The defect

Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2023 Freightliner M2 vehicles. The driveshafts can break under certain loading conditions.

A broken driveshaft can separate and cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix — what to do

Dealers will replace the driveshafts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 30, 2023. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL980.
