The defect

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2019 G550 vehicles. The fuel tank may not have been welded properly during manufacturing, which could result in a fuel leak.

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of fire.

The fix — what to do

Dealers will replace the fuel tank, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 3, 2021. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.
