The defect

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2017-2018 AT37/41/48M, AT41P, AT48S, L37M, L42A, and TA40 aerial device vehicles. The rotation bearing fasteners may experience stress corrosion cracking.

The risk

Cracked rotation bearing fasteners may break, causing separation of the pedestal and turntable, increasing the risk of death and/or injury.

The fix — what to do

Altec will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rotation bearing fasteners, free of charge. The recall began on May 21, 2021. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 807.
