The defect

Kalmar Solutions, LLC (Kalmar) is recalling certain 2019 Ottawa T2E battery electric vehicles. The transmission tailshaft speed sensor can be affected by electromagnetic interference, causing the transmission to shift unexpectedly.

The shifting of the transmission can cause unexpected vehicle movement, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix — what to do

Kalmar will notify owners and TransPower will replace the transmission tail shaft sensor and update software, free of charge. The recall began February 12, 2020. Owners may contact Kalmar customer service at 1-785-229-6327.
