The defect

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2019 A220 and A220 4MATIC vehicles. Due to improper welding, the pedal plate may bend, impairing the operation of the brake pedal.

The fix — what to do

MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the welding of the brake pedal, replacing it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began May 31, 2019. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2019050002.
