2016 Pacific Coachworks Rage'n Recall: There may be an incorrect Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC) value printed on…
NHTSA campaign 16V289000 · Equipment · filed May 11, 2016 · verified Jul 30, 2026
The defect
Pacific Coachworks is recalling certain model year 2016 Rage'N toy haulers, model 27FBX, manufactured April 1, 2015, to April 30, 2016. There may be an incorrect Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC) value printed on the Federal Information label, allowing the vehicle to be over loaded. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 120, "Wheel and Rims - Other Than Passenger Cars."
The risk
If the vehicle was loaded to the incorrect CCC on the label, the vehicle would be overloaded, possibly causing tire failure, and increasing the risk of a crash.
