The defect

Vermeer is recalling certain model year 2010-2012 R9X12T drilling fluid reclaimer trailers manufactured from March 01, 2010, through August 03, 2012. Due to interference between the air brake hoses and the frame cross-member at the rear axle, the air brake hose may become pinched or be damaged, resulting in the loss of air pressure to the air brakes.

The risk

A loss of air pressure to the air brakes can result in a loss of service brakes, increasing the risk of a crash.
