What NHTSA is examining

Early production ducati 1098 model motorcycles are subject to engine stalling, typically when the engine is operating in the upper limit of its acceptable temperature range and when the operator rolls off the throttle to the idle position. Odi was aware of numerous instances where this has occurred (though only two owners have formally submitted reports to us) and that ducati has undertaken an ecu exchange program to address the issue.subsequently, after opening this pe, ducati elected to conduct a safety recall to correct the issue on the subject motorcycles.since the recall addresses odi's concerns, odi has dropped its request for information sent august 16, 2007.
