What NHTSA is examining

In late october 2002, gillig corporation released a field service bulletin advising owners that a protruding bolt on the air conditioning unit (a/c) could make contact with an uninsulated power cable end and possibly cause a fire.the remedy was to remove the excess length from the a/c bolt.as a result of the agency's investigation into this matter, gillig corporation has agreed to conduct a safety recall and notify allowners of the affected vehicles. Based on the manufacturer's safety recall action (03v-055), this investigation is closed.further use of the agency's resources are unwarranted at this time.
