This investigation was opened on october 9, 2002, based on three reports alleging the infant seat separated from the base during a motor vehicle crash.century reported one additional report of seat separation.century also conducted a recall of certain celestia seat bases in canada after a sample seat failed a transport canada compliance test.in contrast, the seat passes the u.s. Compliance test.odi reviewed real-world experience of the subject seats and complaints in the odi database on peer seats. Based on a review of the data, a safety- related defect has not been identified at this time and further use of agency resources does not appear to be warranted.accordingly, this investigation is closed.the closing of this investigation does not constitute a finding by nhtsa that a safety-related defect does not exist.the agency will take further action if warranted by the circumstances.additional information attached
