On 6/5/2008 arvinmeritor filed a defect report stating certain wheel end studs, and subsequently produced hubs/axles with these studs, may have been incorrectly heat treated during production.if a wheel stud fractures, the remaining wheel studs can become stressed leading to the fracturing of additional wheel studs.should the wheel of a vehicle experience any wheel stud fractures, the wheel could detach from the vehicle and cause a crash.rmd mailed 32 companies information request letters on 11/4/08.another ir letter was mailed to non-responding companies on 12/19/08.of those 32 companies, 9 were vehicle manufacturers that decided to file defect report with nhtsa.the other 23 companies were either not vehicle manufacturers or repaired the equipment prior to retailing their vehicles.the following recalls were issued as a result of this eq:innovative trailer:09v-067 trailmobile:08v-660m h eby, inc:08v-621 manac inc:08v-665tiffin:09v-045neville welding: 09v-012pierce mfg: 08v-591seagrave fire apparatus: 08v-605mauer mfg: 09v-007ir responses can be found below or in the document repository.this eq is closed.
